Construction Work  
  For the purpose of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW) and the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (NSW) construction work means any work carried out in connection with the construction, alteration, conversion, fitting-out, commissioning, renovation, repair, maintenance, refurbishment, demolition, decommissioning or dismantling of a structure. It includes, for example,
• installation and testing relating to the activities listed above or any essential service;
• waste and product removal;
• assembly and disassembly of prefabricated products to and from a structure; and
• site inspection and excavation.
It does not include the manufacture of plant, the prefabrication of materials to be used in construction, the construction of a structure intended to be transported to another place, minor maintenance work or mining or exploration for minerals.
