GLOSSARY TERM
  Commercial Arbitration Act 2010 (NSW)

  DESCRIPTION
An Act which replaces the Commercial Arbitration Act 1984 (NSW) and seeks to create a more flexible, efficient and cost-effective means of conducting arbitrations in NSW. This act aligns arbitration conducted in NSW with the UNCITRAL model and substantially enhances the powers of arbitrators by limiting the circumstances in which a party may seek court intervention. Arbitrators are also granted the power to make interim orders, seek court assistance in taking evidence, consolidate proceedings and order specific performance under this act.
