  DESCRIPTION  
  The Act is an act to regulate the building industry in Queensland, including:

(a) to ensure maintenance of proper standards in the industry;

(b) to achieve a reasonable balance between the interests of building contractors and end consumers;

(c) to provide remedies for defective building work; and

(d) to provide support and educational advice for those who undertake building work and consumers.
