  DESCRIPTION  
  This Act is to protect Queensland's environment while allowing for development that improves the total quality of life, now and in the future, in a way that maintains 'ecologically sustainable development'.

The Act regulates 'environmentally relevant activities'.

The Act binds everyone including the Queensland Government and its agencies and, as far as legislative power permits, the Commonwealth Government and other state governments.
