  Local Environment Plan (LEP)  
 
  DESCRIPTION  
  An environmental planning instrument which applies to the whole or part of a local government area. A LEP is prepared by the local council and approved by the Minister for Planning. The provisions of the LEP control development within the area by detailing those uses which are permissible in the different zones addressed by the LEP (Part 3 Division 4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
(NSW)).
