|Home Building Act 1989 (NSW)|
|An Act concerning the residential building industry and certain specialist work (eg plumbing) which deals with:
(a) the licensing and discipline of persons who undertake residential building and certain specialist works;
(b) contractual provisions required for any residential building and certain specialist works (including mandatory warranties to be provided by the person undertaking those works);
(c) the resolution of disputes (including referral to the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal);
(d) mandatory insurance in relation to residential building and certain specialist works; and
(e) the investigative and other powers of the Director General of the Office of Fair Trading.
