Development Control Plan (DCP)
More detailed provisions relating to the land to which the LEP applies. DCP's may relate to criteria for multi-unit housing, parking or advertising standards and operate in conjunction with an LEP. A DCP is, however, not a legally binding document, rather it is a policy document that a Consent Authority must take into consideration when determining a Development Application. As a DCP is not legally binding, a proposed development which is permissible under an Environmental Planning Instrument, but which is contrary to the provisions of a DCP is still permissible provided that appropriate consideration is given to the DCP.
