  Green Star  
 
  DESCRIPTION  
  A comprehensive, voluntary environmental rating system which rates a building against nine environmental criteria. Green Star rates a building both at its design stage and after construction. Green Star includes tools applicable to different classes of buildings, such as office, retail and healthcare. Buildings can be rated between 4 and 6 stars, with 6 stars representing world leadership. The right to promote the Green Star rating relies upon formal certification by the Green Building Council of Australia. See Green Building Council of Australia.
